SEPTEMBER 2010 Nikyla's Tour of Duty Painting now has its own webpage www.nikylasmith.com/tourofduty
JULY 2010 Nikyla's latest aviation painting was recently unveiled at the Hyatt Coolum at a private function on the Sunshine Coast. Nikyla's painting which was commissioned by Aeromil Pacific's Managing Director Steve Padgett, celebrates the delivery of five new Cessna Citation Mustang's to Singapore Flying College at the Sunshine Coast Airport.
MAY 2010 Work is continuing on the Tour of Duty painting, the majority of the background is now completed, Nikyla is now concentrating her time on the portraits. The picture below shows a small section of the painting with some of the completed portraits.
JANUARY 2010 Nikyla has started work on the biggest painting of her career, the Tour of Duty painting which measures 1.9 meters high by 3.16 meters wide will be unveiled in New York City in 2011 A group of fire fighters has been chosen from around Australia to run from Los Angles to New York raising money for charities along the way. Nikyla's painting will be a tribute to the 411 Emergency Service Workers that lost their lives in New York on Sept 11th, 2001 For more information on the run please visit the Tour of Duty website

Nikyla's painting of the AGL Rescue Helicopter was completed in early October, the painting was auctioned off at the 30th Anniversary Gala Ball which was held at the Novotel Twin Waters Resort, Ocean Drive Twin Waters, Queensland on the 16th October 2009. The painting raised $2000 with all proceeds going to the Sunshine Coast Helicopter Rescue Service - AGL Rescue Pictured below with the completed painting are crew members Rick Harvey and Tony Preston

OCTOBER 2008 Nikyla had her final sitting with Australian Inventor David Warren in Melbourne recently and the portrait is nearly finished. David is a remarkable and humble Australian who never gave up with his dream to improve air safety with the help of his invention the black box flight recorder. Thanks to David and Ruth Warren for an entertaining and fun day.
