WHY NIKYLA PAINTED 'HISTORY'S DAUGHTER'
Nikyla says:
"I guess you could say 'History's Daughter' is my salute to all woman
since the beginning of time. Although the way of life and
ideas have changed significantly down through the centuries (in
particular the last century), the one thing that hasn't changed is
'Women'!
We all start out as little
girls with big hearts and bigger dreams, filled with such hope and
anticipation of what joys life will bring our way! And it is
this, the youthful awakening of the girl looking forward to becoming a
woman, that I have tried to capture in 'History's Daughter'."
The model Nikyla chose for
'History's Daughter' is 14 year
old Ashleigh, who's parents are close friends of Nikyla and Greg's.
Nikyla says:
"Ashleigh is growing into
such a lovely young lady in every way, that when I finally summoned up
the courage to attempt this painting, I chose her as my model because of her
classically sweet and
timeless face, which I felt was perfect as the youthful daughter of any era."
